ARCHULETA COUNTY, CO — Effective immediately on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office has officially 
rescinded Stage 1 Fire Restrictions for all unincorporated areas within 
Archuleta County.

What is a Red Flag Warning?

• Red Flag Warnings are not part of the fire code, law, ordinance, or standard. Red Flag Warnings are just that, warnings, issued by the National Weather Service for a specific geographical area known as a fire weather zone. See which Colorado fire weather zone you live in or own property in here. Meteorologists evaluate temperatures, humidity levels, and wind speeds to predict the risk of fire danger for a particular region.
