Information Release –Structure Fire
On August 10, 2021 at approx. 12:21 p.m. a garage fire was reported on Lakeside Drive. The notification was received through the 911 system managed by Archuleta County Combined Dispatch center.
Upon arrival, the first due engine completed a scene size up noting a detached garage with scorch marks showing around the garage door. Thermal imaging showed heat signatures near the eaves. Firefighters deployed hose lines and entered the structure finding the fire was contained to a small area. Fire was contained to the area of ignition and did not spread to structural components.
PFPD responded with two engines, one wildland engine, two chief vehicles, one fire marshal vehicle, one support vehicle, seven paid staff members, and two volunteers.
PFPD was on scene for approx. one hour.
The detached garage was unoccupied at the time of the fire.
There are no firefighter or civilian injuries to report. The origin and cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
